Hampton Beach

They navigate between the rocks.

Miranda and Salvia leap from one to another, squealing a little as they slither. Natalie picks her way around them, across the soggy sand, complaining that her new sandals will be ruined.

They jostle. They ease up. They’re like high tide against the sea wall and then the seventh wave ebbed back down the beach. Three bodies go forwards in search of warmth.
